To celebrate the bicentenary of the birth of Luxembourg's national poet Edmond de la Fontaine (known as Dicks), this year the Théâtres de la Ville are staging a contemporary creation of his most famous play, directed by Jacques Schiltz. Playwright Samuel Hamen adds an extra layer to the famous Mumm Séis, bringing together the present and the past, irony and nostalgia, combining acting, singing, orchestra and choir, to a musical composition by Ivan Boumans. The play uses elements of science fiction, such as the time loop and time travel, to bridge the gap between classical theatre and contemporary entertainment.
