In Circle Songs, everything revolves around the elements of rhythm, sound and improvisation. Short musical phrases are repeated and developed through improvisational means.

Popularised as a vocal discipline by Bobby Mc Ferrin over 20 years ago, the Circle Song is a powerful ritual form for generating collective musical energy and connection within the group.

You will be guided by our speakers Nicolas Billaux, Jeff Mack and Muriel Nsunda.

Workshop in Luxembourgish, French, English.

Prerequisite: Enjoy singing, regardless of level

Jeff Mack

Jeff Mack's musical education began at the Conservatoire du Nord/Ettelbruck in Luxembourg.
There he received the Diplôme Superieur in trumpet, voice and opera class with great distinction. He then studied trumpet and singing at the Hochschule for Music in Mainz.

The young musician is particularly drawn to baroque and contemporary music.
Jeff Mack is a member of the excellence programme "Barock Vokal", which is dedicated to the historical performance practice of works from the Renaissance to Weimar Classicism.
He deepened his knowledge in various master classes with, among others, Gabriele Lechner, Philippe Jaroussky, Andreas Scholl, Hans-Martin Rux and the King's Singers. Solo performances brought him together with renowned conductors such as Pierre Cao (L), Ralf Otto (D), David Reiland (B),
Grete Pedersen (N) and Christopher Robinson (GB) and orchestras such as the Orchestre Philharmonique du Luxembourg, Mainzer Bachorchester, Le Concert Lorrain and the Neumeyer Consort. Concerts have taken him throughout Europe, Canada, the United States and to South Africa.

In 2014 he made his debut in the role of "Rinaldo" from Handel's opera of the same name at CAPe Ettelbruck (L) and at the theatre in Esch-sur-Alzette (L). This was followed by performances as "Rinaldo" at the Tage für Alte Musik Saarbrücken and as "Nerone" in Monteverdi's l'Incoronazione di Poppea in Darmstadt.

Jeff Mack teaches trumpet at the Luxembourg Capital Conservatory and regularly conducts workshops at the INECC.

La formation musicale de Jeff Mack a débuté au Conservatoire du Nord/Ettelbruck à Luxembourg.
Il y a obtenu le Diplôme Supérieur de Trompette, de Chant et de Classe d'Opéra avec grande distinction. Il a ensuite étudié la trompette et le chant à la Hochschule für Musik de Mayence.

Le jeune musicien est particulièrement attiré par la musique baroque et la musique contemporaine.
Jeff Mack est membre du programme d'excellence "Barock Vokal", qui se consacre à l'interprétation d'œuvres de la musique baroque et de la Renaissance jusqu'au classicisme de Weimar.

Jeff Mack enseigne la trompette au Conservatoire de la capitale luxembourgeoise et il donne régulièrement des ateliers à l'INECC.

Nicolas Billaux

Following his training in the conservatories of Lyon, Namur and Freiburg im Breisgau, and his installation in Luxembourg in 2011, Nicolas has developed a musical activity centered around ensemble practices and improvisation.

As a choir director and oboist, teacher and improviser, he likes to vary contexts and formats, seeking to bring music closer to everyone.
