Luxembourg Jazz Voices 25 - 26 | Semester 1

With Luxembourg Jazz Voices, INECC founded and realized a long-planned project in 2018: a choir that focuses primarily on jazz performances.

Edith Van den Heuvel skillfully leads the energetic and talented choir of the Luxembourg Jazz Voices with an eclectic repertoire that ranges from swing to jazz, including bossa nova and funk. If you enjoy this style, it's the perfect opportunity to revisit all your classics.

The Luxembourg Jazz Voices choir is directed and organized by jazz singer Edith Van den Heuvel.

Sébastien Cuiret

Pianist, organist and percussionist Sébastien Cuiret has worked for over 15 years with numerous amateur choirs in Lorraine (France). He has also collaborated with INECC (France), running courses on choral piano accompaniment.

An active jazz musician in the region, he performs regularly on regional stages (Thionville jazz festival, Nancy Jazz pulsation...), notably on the Hammond organ, an instrument he particularly loves.

His versatility and curiosity brought him into contact with dance in 2010: he is also a dance musician and dance accompaniment instructor at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Metz. He is also involved in dance training at the Pôle Musique et Danse de Lorraine.

Sébastien Cuiret obtained the Dalcroze certificate in 2020 (active method of learning music, based on movement), enabling him to use Dalcrozian tools in his teaching. Fascinated by dance movement, he joined the Corps In Situ dance company in 2023 and performs with it in France and Luxembourg with the show Carnaval.

Edith van den Heuvel

Edith started singing at the age of 9 in a children's choir in the Netherlands. During her studies in Utrecht she joined the well known vocal group Dekoor Close Harmony (which was awarded best choir of Holland in 2007). Edith took singing lessons with Jazz singers like Denise Jannah and Heinrich Thiel. She works with numerous groups and musicians like Dany Schwickerath (guitar), Frank Harrison (piano), the Blue Art Orchestra, Magenta Hill and the Luxembourg Little Big Band.

Since April 2018 Edith leads the newly founded Luxembourg Jazz Voices.

Edith a commencé à chanter à l'âge de 9 ans dans une chorale d'enfants aux Pays-Bas. Pendant ses études à Utrecht, elle a rejoint le célèbre groupe vocal Dekoor Close Harmony (qui a reçu le prix du meilleur chœur des Pays-Bas en 2007). Edith a pris des cours de chant avec des chanteurs de jazz comme Denise Jannah et Heinrich Thiel. Elle travaille avec de nombreux groupes et musiciens comme Dany Schwickerath (guitare), Frank Harrison (piano), le Blue Art Orchestra, Magenta Hill et le Luxembourg Little Big Band.

Depuis avril 2018, Edith dirige le groupe vocal nouvellement fondé Luxembourg Jazz Voices.
